Class Descriptions

AKC STAR Puppy Class

This fun and engaging class is for Puppies up to 10 months of age and their humans! The class curriculum is regulated by the American Kennel Club focusing on proper socialization for the puppy and responsible parenting for the humans! We will work on basic manners, enrichment activities, socialization skills and exposure training...and we will always end our classes with a puppy social playtime!

6 week session: $209

AKC Community Canine

AKC Canine Good Citizen required
This class combines the socialization and obedience from the CGC and CGCU classes with an extra element of obedience focus. There is off leash work (in a secure location only). This class will vary in locations, secure for off leash work, and real life situations and locations for on leash obedience work. If your pup does not already have his/her CGC Title (or you have not sent it in) you can still take the class, and test or send in both test forms at one time at the end of the 6 week course.

6 week session: $209

Basic Manners

Basic Manners is a fun, reward based class for puppies and dogs 8 months of age and up. During this 5 week program we will work on basic manners including sit, down, wait, recall and leash manners. We will also work on confidence building skills through enrichment and obstacle conditioning. This class is for any furfriend who has already started working on manners, but hasn't had a chance to do their manners around other dogs and people, or for fur friends who are just starting out!

5 week session: $189

Best in Manners/CGC Prep Class

This class is a continuation for any private or group class clients and their furkiddos who are looking to work their skills in real life situations. At the end of the 5 week class session- All dogs and humans can test for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen title. Each week the class will meet in a new location and environment- We practice group manners at establishments such as Lowe’s, Home Goods, Dicks Sporting Goods, Downtown Holland and or Saugatuck, etc. The only class that is in a traditional class setting is the first one when we will review our manners in preparation for Real Life training experiences!

5 week session: $189

Best in Manners 2 Urban Pet/CGCU

AKC Urban CGC is a title in the Canine Good Citizen family of awards and titles that also include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen and AKC Community Canine. AKC Urban CGC requires that the dog demonstrate CGC skills and beyond in a setting that includes traffic, crowds, noises, smells and other distractions that are present in a city or town. As with Canine Good Citizen, AKC Urban CGC is a 10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Urban CGC title. This is a title that appears on the dog’s title record at AKC. This is a great class for those pups who want to keep learning or striving to be a helper dog in schools, nursing homes, libraries and many other public situations. The CGCU uses a public access test to demonstrate that our dogs are well-behaved and well-trained when in public settings. The Urban CGC test can be used by dog- friendly business (e.g., lodging, retail, transportation, public facilities) to recognize and accept dogs with good manners.

5 week session: $189

Mini Manners

Our toy breed dogs process things very differently than our bigger fur friends! I have lived with mini breeds for as many years as I have lived with my bigger breeds and I know this firsthand. They socialize differently and they learn differently…So I have created a class for little breeds only! They will learn manners in a way that is important for their safety and confidence, and they will have the opportunity to learn to socialize with friends their size…and people who understand them!

4 week session: $160

Mini Manners Level 2

This is a twist on our best in manners 1 class for our mighty mini's who have successfully completed the basic Mini Manners class but want to continue their socialization, confidence and manners in real life situations! We are keeping this class for our toy breeds (20lbs and under) and our focus will be working them through distractions while practicing their manners out and about in town, parks, stores, etc.
This is a great way to keep your littles working, while continuing to consider their comfort zones as little dogs and growing their worlds in the company of other minis!

4 week session: $160

Intro to Agility

In this fun class, your furkid will learn about jumps and tunnels, weave poles and teeter totters! The goal of this class is to give you and your best friend an outlet for physical and mental stimulation while having fun in a positive and relaxed environment. Agility work is excellent for active dogs, shy dogs and everyone in the middle. The only requirement is that your dog is not aggressive on leash toward other dogs! Its a great way to bond with your pup and build their problem solving and direction receiving skills!

4 week session: $165
